Yankovic is of no relation to the famous accordionist Frankie Yankovic, but "Weird Al" did play accordion for "Who Stole the Kishka" on one of Frankie's final records, Songs of the Polka King, Vol.
Yankovic is best known for his song parodies ("Eat It"), though he has actually recorded a greater number of original humorous songs ("You Don't Love Me Anymore" and "One More Minute").
Yankovic, the only child of Nikolas Louis Yankovic (a Serb-American) and Mary Elizabeth Vivalda (of Italian descent), was born in Downey, California, but raised in the nearby town of Lynwood.
