In late August 2002, precoveries were announced from Palomar 1.2m plates from March 1997, and from NEAT's Palomar and Hawaiian instruments in April 2000, March 2001, and during January through April 2002.
2002 UX25 is a large EKBO discovered by Spacewatch with its 1.8m telescope on 30 Oct. 2002.
This was confirmed in Aug. 2002 from HST observations on 18 and 30 June and 12 July.

On 4 April 2002, JPL and the University of Arizona in multiple news releases (JPL, JPL NEO Program, UA) announced the publication of scientific papers by these authors on the same topics in the 5 April 2002 issue of Science magazine.
65407 2002 RP120 was discovered by Brian Skiff at LONEOS on 4 Sept. 2002, and, when formally announced on the 10th, it had already had 102 observations in from 19 different observatories.
On 4 Oct. 2002 the Minor Planet Center announced that the orbital characteristics of the newly discovered asteroid 2002 SY50 "bear a striking resemblance to those of 1937 UB," but a match couldn't be made yet.

One of his NEOs, 2002 PN, from August 2002 to April 2003 was on both the NEODys and JPL risk pages, a rare place for amateur-discovered asteroids in this age of large automated NEO search programs.
On 14 Feb., the European Spaceguard Central Node posted 2002 CP20 to its observing campaigns page, saying that further observations are needed both to prove that the orbit is truly interior to that of the Earth, and to make sure that CP20 doesn't pose an impact threat.
However, when it came to the attention of the news media that 2002 NT7 had gone (briefly) PS-positive last year, no IAU statement was provided, and news entities worldwide were left to each sort out the facts on their own, and were collectively blasted for their efforts.

The most happy nativities are those enjoying close conjunctions of 2002 AA29 and Sedna, such as in summer 1969.
