Justice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Justice (in both senses) is part of the debate regarding moral relativism and moral objectivism: Is there an "objective standard" of justice, under which all actions should be judged, or is it acceptable for justice to have different meanings in different societies?
If a person lives under a certain set law in a country, concepts of "justice" are often simply deferential to the existing law —the issuing of punitive reprimands for violations may be referred to as "serving justice." In principle, this fits the general concept in that the individuals get what is supposedly due to them.

Procedural justice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Procedural justice is an umbrella term for the administration of justice and legal proceedings in a procedurally fair and transparent manner, and encompasses the related terms due process (U.S.), fundamental justice (Canada), procedural fairness (Australia) and natural justice (other Common law jurisdictions).
Procedural justice concerns the fairness of the processes by which decisions are made, and may be contrasted with the distributive justice (fairness in the distribution of rights or resources), and corrective justice (fairness in the rectification of wrongs).
In the United States, for example, a concern for procedural justice is reflected in the Due Process clauses of the United States Constitution.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Justice
Justice requires that all should have what belongs to them, and so the just man will render to the society, or State, of which he is a member, what is due to it.
For justice is something which is due to another; it consists, as Aristotle said, in a certain equality by which the just and definite claim of another, neither more nor less, is satisfied.
Justice between man and man is called individual, particular, or commutative justice, because it is chiefly concerned with contracts and exchange.

 Justice as a Virtue
According to Hume we have a strict obligation of justice to allow people to keep what they have earned through their own diligence and ingenuity rather than (say) tax it away (or, presumably, force unionization on factory owners).
To be sure, Plato understands individual justice on analogy with justice "writ large" in the state, but he views the state, or republic, as a kind of organism or beehive, and the justice of individuals is not thought of as primarily involving conformity to just institutions and laws.
However, the idea that we should return the money or property despite what free-wheeling prudence or benevolence would lead us to do is intuitively forceful, and Hume shows himself aware of the potential clash here between benevolence and justice/morality in a way that Hutcheson was not.

20th WCP: Plato's Concept Of Justice: An Analysis
Socrates criticises the defination of justice given by Thrasymachus and he says just as a physician studies and exercises his power not in his interest but in the interest of a patient, the Government of any kind shall do what is good for the people for whom it exercises its art.
Plato contended that justice is the quality of soul, in virtue of which men set aside the irrational desire to taste every pleasure and to get a selfish satisfaction out of every object and accommodated themselves to the discharge of a single function for the general benefit.
Justice is, for Plato, at once a part of human virtue and the bond, which joins man together in society.
