FUNCTION - LoveToKnow Article on FUNCTION
This means that the number h which corresponds to any as in (1) may be the same at all points of the interval, or, in other words, that the numbers h which correspond to e for different values of a have a positive inferior limit.
Calculations with Divergent Series. When the series described in (1) and (2) of 24 diverge, they may, nevertheless, be used for the approximate numerical calculation of the values of the function, provided the calculation is not carried beyond a certain number of terms.
And R0 may be taken to coincide as nearly as desired with the interior of the region bounded by F. Expression of (1 1) by means of Polynomials.

Mathematics of musical scales   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
To calculate the frequency of a note in a scale given in terms of ratios, the frequency ratio is multiplied by the frequency we associate to the unison, which will often be the tonic frequency.
For instance, with a tonic of A4 (A natural above middle C), the frequency is 440 Hz, and a justly tuned fifth above it (E5) is simply
The lower note is a constant A (440 Hz in either scale), the upper note is a C# in the just intonation scale for the first 1s, and a C# in the E.T. scale for the second 1s.

I tried several resolutions for different frequencies between 10 and 1.e5 Hz.
Looking at the results I noticed that, when the frequency increases, the J vectors "flow" closer to one L-shaped surface, so looking along X axis there is an asymmetry, the J field lines preferring the L-shape surface at z=0.
The Physical entities tell GMSH the elements and their associated region numbers to save in the file 'L3D.msh'.

Simplified ping sends a packet containing an ICMP_ECHO and some data to the target which will reply with an ICMP_ECHOREPLY packet that contains the data sent to it (only some fields are modified).
Normally ping will wait about 1 sec before it sends the next ICMP_ECHO.
On many implementations of ping you can bypass this and do a "floodping" which will *not* wait but just send the packets as fast as possible.
