King Soloman had to decide between two women as to which was the mother of a baby.
Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines, who brought in their "gods" (1 Kings 11:5-7) such as Ashtoreth (of the Sidonians), Milcom (of the Ammonites), Chemosh (of Moab), and Molech (of the Ammonites).
On Mt. Carmel (1 Kings 18), Elijah and prophets of Baal had a showdown to see who would send fire to light their alters: God lit the fire for Elijah, and the prophets of Baal were killed.

 Bible Query from 1 Kings
In 1 Kings 2:17, it is Adonijah alone, not Adonijah and Abishag that ask Bathsheba, not Solomon, to be married.
In 1 Kings 14:12-17, Jeroboam and his wife moved to Tirzah when their son was ill. Perhaps they thought Tirzah's climate was better for their dying son.
This is condemned in Proverbs 30:5-6 and 1 Corinthians 4:6.

Jehoshaphat, son of King Asa and Azubah (daughter of Shilhi), had become king of Judah in the 4th year of Ahab's reign in Israel.
