Now playing in Boston: movie tickets below $10 - The Boston Globe
Movie studios are even contemplating taking away one of the biggest advantages theaters enjoy, the first shot at screening new movies.
The $10 movie ticket was once seen as an industry taboo, a threshold that consumers would not cross.
Movie theater chains are trying to figure out ways to lure people back, offering interactive video gaming, showings for new moms, special screenings of baseball games and concerts, and food that goes well beyond popcorn and soda.

Although this is not a car movie, the chase sequence is largely credited as being responsible for one of this movie's 5 Oscars (best editing).

This is a big movie with big stars, big stunts and a big budget, but the big chase scene is much much much shorter than the original.

MSN MOVIES - SPRING MOVIE GUIDE
Movies have been making fun of movies since the silent era, but it was generally doled out in small doses in film shorts (such as the brilliant Ingmar Bergman send-up "De Düva: The Dove") and TV sketch comedy ("Your Show of Shows").
The entire movie industry was fair game: whodunits ("Murder by Death"), disaster films ("The Big Bus"), foreign-legion adventures ("The Last Remake of Beau Geste"), Sherlock Holmes mysteries ("The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother"), slasher films ("Student Bodies") -- you name it.
Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick are the all-American couple corrupted in the den of polymorphous perversity, their libidos unleashed by the Transylvanian transvestite in fishnets and the irresistible beat of music.

10 Items or Less Movie Review - 10 Items or Less Movie Trailer - The Boston Globe
The film's so minuscule it can afford dramatic conflict for only one of its characters: Scarlet is applying for an office job, but she's ready to give up before she even gets to the interview.
Freeman's character, by contrast, is one of life's optimists (he's a movie star; he can afford to be sunny) and he takes her defeatism as a personal challenge.
"10 Items or Less" is nearly an acting class exercise, except for the fact that these two have long since graduated.

Commentaries: Top Ten Movie Robots of All Time - Christianity Today Movies
When you look at the history of significant robot movies (most notably the '50s, the mid-'70s, and the '90s), they all seem to hit at times when technology is at a new peak or society is beginning to tackle major issues of what it means to be human.
With all this in mind, I wanted to identify the ten best robots in movie history: robots who were revolutionary, who carried thematic weight, who were lovable (or frightening), or who were just ultra-cool.
Optimus Prime (The Transformers: The Movie, 1984), Autobot leader and semi-truck who established himself as the ultimate valiant robot warrior with honor, strength, leadership and self-sacrifice.

Movie spaceships are legion, but which is the most awesome in the universe?
Some rules: We only drew from the movies (TV spaceships like the Battlestar Galactica -- which is killer -- and the Draconian Marauder from Buck Rogers don't count), and we only included legitimate spacecraft.
Early ships were distinguished by photon torpedoes, phasers, and a predilection for self-destruction, but it's the only ship here that can legitimately go back and forth through time.
