100 Bullets - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Both the writing and artwork in 100 Bullets exemplifies the noir and pulp genres.
In each story arc, the mysterious Agent Graves approaches someone who has been wronged in some way, and gives them the chance to set things right in the form of a nondescript attaché case containing a handgun, 100 bullets, the identity of the person who ruined their life and irrefutable evidence of this.
He informs the candidate that the bullets are completely untraceable, and any police agency that recovers these bullets as part of an investigation will, through some unexplained process, immediately drop that investigation and ignore any transgressions related to it.

 The Comics Journal: Reviews
According to Neil, who works at my local comic bookstore, 100 Bullets is a rare example of a Vertigo title that appeals to the hardcore Marvel and costumed super-hero audience.
This is not to say that 100 Bullets isn't better than most of what's out there in genre comics land.
The real question is whether 100 Bullets offers anything more than an unusually intricate riff on the familiar guns, broads and vengeance motif; and the answer, I fear, is no. Lurking behind the creators' undeniable talents is yet another comic whose horizons are defined by the introspect's holy trinity of comics, porn, and noir.

100 Bullets begins with a simple premise, as most great things do: A person is given the chance to kill a person who wronged them in the past using a briefcase full of a gun, 100 untraceable bullets, and irrevokable evidence that this person is guilty.
That is the basic premise of 100 Bullets: the brain child of writer Brian Azzarello (Superman: For Tomorrow, Cage) and artist Eduardo Risso, which bring this gritty, crime fantasy to life.
Like many of Vertigo's other titles, 100 Bullets isn't for everyone, but for those who enjoy a hard edged crime story with a twist, 100 Bullets is for you, and it only gets better with each passing volume.

This latest issue of 100 Bullets features all the tropes familiar to the genre: the dangerous femme fatale; the dark bars; corrupt and morally-ambiguous low-life’s; crooks and socio-paths.
Where 100 Bullets also delivers this issue, is in the mood and atmosphere that permeates throughout the book.

The premise of 100 Bullets is a mysterious man known as Agent Graves offers you the ways and means to get revenge on someone who’s done you wrong.
In the first story arc he offers the means for revenge to one Dizzy Cordova, a former Latina gang-banger whose husband, Hector, and baby, Santiago, are gunned down in a drive-by shooting while she’s serving time in prison.
She blames herself for the death of her husband and child—a kind of "payback from God" for all of the bad things she’s done in her young life.
