		The environmental damage caused by the project will be far greater than that caused by any previous comparable project in Iceland.

	South American oil companies sign partnership agreement for oil & gas exploration offshore Argentina
		According to the contract terms, Repsol YPF and its partners will fully cover the investments in the exploration stage which is estimated to cost between US$40 and US$100 million.
		As the operator, Repsol YPF will be responsible for the acquisition of 1000km2 of 3D seismic data.

		Large epithermal systems have been recognized in Northland where Aurora Minerals has the Hazelbrook (1000km2) and Lanigans (200km2) projects which it is currently exploring for large Martha Hill type epithermal gold deposits.

		Radio-collared female cheetahs were more closely related to other cheetahs in the study area than males, indicating male dispersal.
		Continual cheetah perturbation may partially explain the unusually low density of cheetahs in this area (estimated at only 2.5 cheetahs per 1000km2) despite the apparent abundance of prey.
		Namibian farmers originally surveyed revealed a mean removal of 19 cheetahs per year/farm, even when not considered a problem, and higher removals occurred on game farms.

	Scale Outbreak - Past Findings
		Measuring ecological processes on substrates of known ages provides a powerful tool in understanding the long-term dynamics of important ecological processes (72) and allows us to test predictions about controlling factors.
		Although our findings on changing scale densities across a soil successional gradient are impressive (see Past Findings #6) and reflect what we believe is a common pattern across the ~1000km2 of the El Malpais lava fields, they are nevertheless preliminary and greater replication is needed.
		Most importantly, these findings do not conclusively establish that abiotic stress leads to plant stress and that increased plant stress at El Malpais leads to increased herbivory.
