		The sprint hurdle races (60 m, 100 m and 110 m) use high hurdles, which are 42 inches (1.07 m) high for men and 33 inches (.84 m) high for women.
		In sprint hurdle races for men, regardless of the length of the race, the first hurdle is 15 yards (13.72 m) from the starting line and the distance between hurdles is 10 yards (9.14 m).
		In sprint hurdle races for women, the first hurdle is 14.22 yards (13 m) from the starting line and the distance between hurdles is 9.3 yards (8.5 m).

	Robert Newton (athlete) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Robert Newton (born June 10, 1981, in Nottingham, England) is a British hurdling athlete.
		However, competing for Team GB at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Newton failed to qualify for the second round of the 110m hurdles competition.
		He is praised for being Britain's only openly gay professional athlete, as well as for his achievements.

		Well, he had a bad lane draw-- I used to hurdle, and I can honestly say that the inside and the outside lanes give you a strange feeling while you hurdle.

		After having won the 110m hurdles title at the 1982 Commonwealth Games as a 20 year-old, Mark McKoy had experienced difficulty in duplicating this performance at the global level, finishing fourth at both the 1983 World Championships and the 1984 Olympic Games.
