	12 Hours of Sebring - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The 12 Hours of Sebring is an annual motorsport endurance race held at Sebring Raceway, a former Air Force base in Sebring, Florida.
		Since the 24 Hours of Daytona are part of the Grand-Am only, the Sebring race is now the season opening event in the American Le Mans Series.
		It is known as an excellent preparation for the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the track's extremely bumpy surface, combined with South Florida's perennial hot weather, is a true test of a car's reliability.

		This is my 22nd year as media director at Sebring, and I can honestly tell you we have NEVER had more media interest than 2006 because of the Audi diesel story, which is a milestone in automotive history.
		Truth is, I always watch the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the famous race upon which the ALMS was based, and I appreciate forms of racing that have a higher sophistication than NASCAR.
		But Sebring fans should remember the fact the race is a big deal to the racing media from Germany and maybe Japan doesn't, by itself, make it a huge story in Tampa, Orlando or Miami.
