	12 Stones - a Review of The Phantom Tollbooth
		12 Stones is the latest entry into the “heavy melody” category, doing their best to incorporate the sounds of Creed, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Rage Against the Machine, and POD into their music.
		Like the Tallahassee quartet, the 12 Stones assembly is founded upon the vocalist-plus-power-trio configuration and mines many of the same spots along the alternative hard rock landscape.
		12 Stones are obvious aficionados of the ubiquitous Creed, and significantly influenced by them, but a closer, longer listen will reveal an appreciably distinctive element, one that renders the band a separate entity with a mind, message and will all their own.

		12 Stones must have listened as their follow up album "Potter's Field" is not only more diverse and creative but you can almost feel a deliberate attempt to make their own sound (no doubt stemming from the fact that way too many people compared them to Creed) Potter's Field, to me, makes two statements.
		This is 12 Stones second album and it's not as good as the first, well, the sound the music part was.

		After forcing myself to listen to this the past few weeks and find the good in the bad I have come to a conclusion that is not feasible.
		From the opener “Shadows” to the closing track aptly titled “In Closing” this is a quagmire of everything wrong with modern rock radio.
		12 Stones does step out of their comfort zone at times for instance in “Lifeless” instead of playing distorted power chords on the verses they opt for clean strumming before going into the chorus.
