		I'm curious, when NS closed down the steam operations in Birmingham, I understand 1218 was there "in pieces".
		The 1218 was in the midst of a major boiler overhaul when the NS steam program was terminated.
		1218 is currently in a very sad looking state due the uncompleted repairs.

		On Saturday, June 14, 2003, the Roanoke Transportation Museum welcomed home an old friend who had been in storage for quite awhile.
		Norfolk & Western's Class A, # 1218 took its place along side of Norfolk & Western's Class J # 611.
		It was a good feeling knowing that the 1218 would now be in its proper place, because for a long time, it was feared that Norfolk Southern might just sell her off for scrap.
