135 film - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The film itself has the same dimensions (35 mm wide) and perforations (16 per 72 mm) as 35 mm movie film but is enclosed in a light-tight cassette to allow cameras to be loaded in daylight.
The end of the film is cut on one side to form a leader, which is to be inserted into a corresponding slot in the camera take-up spool.
Since the 1980s, film cassettes have been marked with a DX encoding pattern for automatically setting the camera to use the correct sensitivity value for the film.

Photographic film - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Photographic film is a sheet of plastic (polyester, celluloid (nitrocellulose) or cellulose acetate) coated with an emulsion containing light-sensitive silver halide salts (bonded by gelatin) with variable crystal sizes that determine the sensitivity and resolution of the film.
Black and white reversal film exists, but is uncommon — one of the reasons reversal films are popular among professional photographers is the fact that they are generally superior to print films with regards to color reproduction.
Film sensitized to X-ray radiation is commonly used for medical imaging, and personal monitoring.

The film itself has the same dimensions and perforations as the 35mm movie film but is enclosed in a light-tight cartridge to allow cameras to be loaded in daylight.
This enables counting of the available exposures and incidentally ensures that all exposed film except the most recent image is safely within the cartridge should the camera back be accidentally opened.
The designations 235 and 435 refer to 35 mm film in daylight loading spools, that could be loaded into Leica or Contax style reusable cartridges without need of a darkroom.

The film itself has the same dimensions (35 mm wide) and perforations (16 per 72 mm) as 35mm movie film but is enclosed in a light-tight cassette to allow cameras to be loaded in daylight.
This results in a longer film on the same spool, but as a result, there are no printed frame numbers, and moreover, it cannot be used in unmodified old cameras that have the red window as frame indicator.
Also, since the film alone is thinner than a film with a backing paper, depending on camera type a special pressure plate may be required to achieve optimal focus.

 KODAK:FAQ:Missing Leader, Size 135 Film
After processing, three quarters were found to have pictures on them, and/or showed more film had been pulled from the magazine than is normal in manufacture, leading us to conclude the film had prematurely rewound in a camera.
Because our film finishing machinery is equipped with sensors to detect the presence of leader, this did not come as a surprise.
When a film's leader is completely rewound into the magazine, it most often signifies that the film has already been exposed and, therefore, needs to be processed.

The film format was introduced into still photography as early as 1913 (the Tourist Multiple) but first became popular with the launch of the Leica camera, created by Oskar Barnack.
In normal still photography use, the film, with Kodak Standard perforations, is used horizontally, with each frame having an aspect ratio of 2:3, a size of 24 x 36 mm.
Most films today are shot and projected using the 4-perforation format, but cropping the top and bottom of the frames for a medium aspect ratio of 1.85 or 1.67.

 Kodak Retina 1b - From 135 / 35mm Roll Film to Everest
When Leica was using 35mm film with frame size 24 x 36 mm, the revolution of 135/35mm film is underway.
What Leica adopted was from 35mm film used in movie shooting, and it made film not easily available, and needed to be preloaded into a specially tailor-made cassette before loading to the camera.
Retina and 135/35mm film ignited the revolution, and other manufactures joined the battlefield to produce various cameras support this new 135/35mm film cassette, which subsequently became the most successful film format in history.

In the case of the Kodak HIE film it is sensitive to near-infrared radiation out to 1000 nm wavelength (1 micron) roughly.
The other films are less sensitive to IR and have an anti-halo layer so they have less, if any, problems.
Since the Konica film sensitivity is nearer visible light than the Kodak, IR marks for the Konica film are about halfway between the standard IR mark on your lens and normal.
