This proposal was formulated and circulated during Wednesday and Thursday and presented at the IESG open plenary.
Given the strong consensus that emerged at that meeting, the group decided to implement the selection process by the next IETF meeting, with the new IESG and IAB members to begin their terms at the termination of the IETF meeting in March.
Crocker [Page 5] RFC 1396 Poised Report January 1993 Future activities Both the IESG and IAB have selected the positions which must be filled through the new selection process.
recorded by Spitzer's instruments, the intriguing region is embedded within the glowing emission nebula IC 1396 at a distance of 2,450 light-years toward the constellation Cepheus.
IC 1396 complex covers a much larger region on the sky than shown here, with an apparent width of more than 10 full moons.
Representing the stuff stars are made of, all these nebulae lie within the large young star cluster complex IC 1396, 3,000 light years from Earth.

Explanation: Stunning emission nebula IC 1396 mixes glowing cosmic gas and dark dust clouds in the high and far off constellation of Cepheus.
Energized by the bright, bluish central star seen here, this star forming region sprawls across hundreds of light-years -- spanning over three degrees on the sky while nearly 3,000 light-years from planet Earth.
The gorgeous color view is a composition of digitized fl and white photographic plates recorded through red and blue astronomical filters.
Now that C 1396 has become a firmly established standard, the nine specifications incorporated into it are being balloted for withdrawal.
Until the publication of C 1396, each gypsum board product was covered by a separate ASTM specification (i.e., ASTM C 36, Specification for Gypsum Wallboard, C 79, Specification for Gypsum Sheathing, etc.).
No technical changes were made to the individual specifications incorporated into C 1396, since the intent was only to combine the individual specifications under a single umbrella specification and simplify maintenance of the standard.
IC 1396(Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
IC 1396 is a large, primarily photographic emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus, which spans 170 x 140 arcmins on photographs.
There is a scattered galactic star cluster superimposed on the nebula, which is designated by the same catalog number, 1396 in the Index Catalog.
Its hot young stars of the spectral type O and B blast free their local environment, resulting in the dark inclusions which can be seen in photographs of the nebula.
These new images pierce through the obscuration to reveal the birth of new protostars, or embryonic stars, and young stars never before seen.
The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is an elongated dark globule within the emission nebula IC 1396 in the constellation of Cepheus.
Located at a distance of 2,450 light-years, the globule is a condensation of dense gas that is barely surviving the strong ionizing radiation from a nearby massive star.
