In 1973, daytime television was given its own Emmy ceremony.
The Emmy was named after an "Immy," an affectionate term used to refer to the image orthicon camera tube.
Should a performer reach his or her 25th birthday in the middle of a term being used for Emmy consideration, there are two possible options.The first option allows the performer to use work up to the time that he or she turned 25.

Probably the awards that mean the most in the worldwide TV industry are the Emmys (Broadcast this year on the CBS network on September 16th).
The Emmy Internet site (http://www.emmys.org/awards/index.htm) tells us this was the last of 48 separate designs considered by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, that the statuettes was nearly five pounds and they’re made of copper, nickel, silver and gold.
The Emmys now are a huge operation, with separate sections dealing with Primetime programmes, Daytime programmes, programmes broadcast in the Los Angeles area, and now programmes made outside the United States are also included (http://www.iemmys.tv/).

My bills are always paid the last day before being due, I had a flight to L.A for the Emmy's and I was running around Manhattan the day before trying to find something to wear, in school I don’t know how many times I had to have extensions on papers.
The awards were held on a Friday evening and I flew home Saturday morning at seven a.m.
That being said, the awards are at the Kodak Theater in L.A. I'm stoked.
