A major new exhibition which explores the history of Lennox Castle Hospital and gives a voice to those who experienced life within the institution will be launched on Monday, 18 November at 6pm (advance media preview from 10am onwards).
The exhibition - 'Lennox Castle: The Human History of an Institution' - was commissioned by Greater Glasgow Primary Care NHS Trust to mark the closure of Lennox Castle Hospital, which saw its last residents leave earlier this year.
Howard Mitchell, who worked to create the Lennox Castle History Project exhibition, will be available for advance interview and photographs on Monday, 18 November from 10am at Heatherbank Museum of Social Work, Glasgow Caledonian University, Cowcaddens Road.

Members of the Blackheath Halls resident orchestra have recorded with rock stars Radiohead on their new album Kid A. The classical musicians are part of the Orchestra of St Johns, which is giving a concert at the halls on November 23, featuring the music of Schubert and Mozart, among others.
A new government scheme which aims to improve the quality of life for families of children under the age of four is to start in Penge and Annerly.

The same evening, they will open a concert that connects our shores with North America: David Francey is a celebrated singer-songwriter, Scottish-born, but based in Ontario, and Irish banjo virtuoso Éamonn Coyne and his Band put the finishing touches on the night.
The Festival opens on Wednesday, 10 November, with Malinky's last gig at Edinburgh Folk Club - at least in the present line-up with Karine Polwart and Leo McCann.

Thanks to the Internet Society of England and Community Action Network for the first time ever, groups of British schoolchildren will have the opportunity of holding a live discussion with the ‘Fathers of the Internet’ Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn.
The event will be hosted on 20th November 2003 with pupils from Greig City Academy in Hornsey with live link ups to schools in Southwark (Archbishop Michael Ramsay Technology College); Merseyside (New Heys Community School Liverpool) and Northern Ireland (Ballyclare High School).
Using web conferencing, the School Standards Minister David Miliband will be able to join the debate, which will be chaired by Charles Leadbeater.

Edited to add that there's five or so DUKWs running around Boston Ma running sightseeing 'Duck Tours'.
I was driving around St Tropez this March and passed a man in a suit and tie driving a motorised desk (complete with telephone nad desktop PC).
It was an Arkansas DUKW which tragically sank with the loss of 11 people.
