In 1905, Lightbody won AAU titles in both the 800 and 1500 metres, and the following year he competed in his second Olympics, the Intercalated Games of 1906 in Athens.
Lightbody lost a close race to fellow American James P. Sullivan in the first round of the 1,500 metres, eliminating him from further competition.
He was defeated by a mere ten yards by Harold Sewell in the first round of the 3,200 metres steeplechase and did not qualify for the final.

Fermín Cacho Ruiz (born February 16, 1969) is a Spanish athlete, winner of the 1500 metres at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Cacho's first notable result came in 1990, when he finished second in the 1500 m at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
In taking evasive action, Cacho was forced to leap over the fallen El Guerrouj, in a manoeuvre which he later estimated had lost him 5 metres of ground to Morceli, who had commenced his final lap sprint for the finish.

First of all he won the third year boys 400 metres in a new personal best of 56.1 seconds then after a short break he was back on the track for the final of the 200 metres which he won after a titanic battle in the home straight in a time of 25.4.
She qualified for the Final of the 100 metres where she was sixth in 15.0 seconds and also the 200 metres where she was also sixth in 29.5 seconds – a mere 0.5 from the bronze medal.
