Hilda family - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hilda family of asteroids is constituted of asteroids with a semi-major axis between 3.7 AU and 4.2 AU, an eccentricity greater than 0.07, and an inclination less than 20°.
Hildas move in their orbits so that their aphelia put them opposite Jupiter, or 60 degrees ahead of or behind Jupiter at the L

As a triangular number, it is the sum of the first 17 integers, and also the sum of the first five factorials.
Since 153 = 1^3 + 5^3 + 3^3, it is a 3-narcissistic number.
Evagrius Ponticus considered 153 to represent a harmonization of contrasts, since 153 = 100 + 28 + 25, with 100 representing a square, 28 a triangle and 25 a circle.

 Hilda group
A group of asteroids that define the outer edge of the main asteroid belt, about 4 AU from the Sun.
They have become locked into their present orbits by a gravitational resonance with Jupiter: a Hilda makes exactly three orbits of the Sun for every two that Jupiter makes.
The prototype is (153) Hilda, discovered in 1875 by Johanna Palisa.

 Hilda Asteroids
Typical Hilda asteroids are captured in the 3/2 resonance of mean motion with respect to that of Jupiter.
The low-eccentricity Hildas (1256) Normannia and (4196) Shuya have appeared as special cases that are separated from the Hildas with eccentric orbits by a wide gap in the distribution of the values of Epm (Schubart, 1991).
In the Hilda group there are subgroups of orbits that nearly agree in the values of all the 3 characteristic parameters mentioned above (Schubart, 1991), in analogy to the well-known families of asteroids.

 ABSTRACTS
Abstract: The asteroid 153 Hilda was studied by photometric, spectroscopic and polarimetric observations during the apparition in 1992.
From our spectrum we find 153 Hilda to be of taxonomic type P. The polarization value of -0.23 at a phase angle of 3.2 degrees seems normal for a P-type asteroid.
Long term integrations of the orbit shows that it is stable over time intervals of several million years.
