  Luther and Science
In natural philosophy or science, questions about nature were no longer answered primarily by quoting Aristotle and the Scholastics, but by turning to observation of and experimentation on nature itself.
Luther accepted astronomy as a science, but rejected astrology as a superstition because it cannot be confirmed by demonstration.
Instead, for example, Luther was ready to accept the conclusion of the astronomers that the moon is the smallest and lowest of the "stars." He interpreted the Scripture that called both the sun and the moon "great lights" as accommodating itself to the appearance of the phenomena [9].

 New Science
He argues that personality's emergence as an object of science was linked to the gradual demise of character and the selfsacrificing, morally grounded self that it supported.
Carefully highlighting Allport's complex commitments to both science and spirituality, Nicholson examines the rich cultural and historical contexts that framed the emergence of personality as a discipline, revealing multiple (even contradictory) meanings of "personality" in the language of American selfhood.
A New Kind of Science provides new insight into a remarkable array of fundamental questions, including how biology produces complexity, how randomness arises in physics, what space and time fundamentally are, how there can be both free will and determinism, how general mathematics really is and what ultimate limits there are to science.

According to an April 3, 1984 memo from Jorge Schupbach to Gallo, the blood samples tested for Sarngadharan's Science article were not those from the CDC, but had been obtained from clinicians at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.
Whether the samples had been blinded and coded was not mentioned, either in Sarngadharan's paper or in Schupbach's memo, although such information would have been important for the interpretation of Sarngadharan's results.
