Charles Wisner Barrell - A Literary Pirate's Attempt to Publish The Winter's Tale in 1594
Malone had at first decided that it was written in 1594; subsequently he seems to have assigned it to 1604; later still, to 1613; and finally he settled on 1610-11.
Among the plays that he put on at the Rose and at Newington during the interrupted seasons of 1592 to June 1594 with the players of Lord Strange, the Lord Admiral and the Lord Chamberlain, as well as the Queen's and Sussex's men, a few are marked "ne" for "new" in his crabbed script.
A unique copy of the 1594 edition was purchased from its Swedish owner in 1904 for two thousand pounds by the late Henry Clay Folger, founder of the Folger Shakespeare Library.

Chapter 4: diocese of St. Augustine, Jacksonville
The Diocese of St. Augustine maintains the original Cathedral-Basilica Parish registers of St. Augustine dating from 1594 to 1881 and episcopal archives of the diocese from 1857 to 1967.
The registers date from 1594, as records for the first twenty-nine years of the parish were lost or destroyed, and form a continuous record through 1763, when Spain ceded Florida to England.
In 1763, departing Spanish officials transferred the registers to Cuba, where they remained in the archives of the Cathedral of Havana for 143 years.

HOASM: Giovanni Pierluigi Da Palestrina   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina was born in 1525 and died in 1594.
In the 1560s he had also directed concerts at the Tivoli villa of Cardinal Ippolito d'Este, and had a Mass commissioned by the Duke of Mantua, who tried to persuade him to leave Rome for the Mantuan court.
These were ideals in consonance with Palestrina's spirit as a Church composer, and it was probably with the memory of that Good Friday meeting in mind that, when he printed this Mass (in 1567), he gave it the title Missa Papae Marcelli.

 Shakespeare's Canon
The Comedy of Errors often gets placed first simply because it smacks more of the schoolhouse than any of the others, and those of us who are fond of imagining Shakespeare a poor, overworked pedagogue, have a bias this direction.
It may be that it was written as a hurried, commissioned work for the festivities at Gray's Inn in 1594.
From the early 18th Century we get the legend that Queen Elizabeth explicitly requested to see Falstaff in love, and that Shakespeare obliged by writing this play within a fortnight.

His premise is that modern biographers and textual scholars have misled everyone regarding the facts about Shakespeare's life and works.
Basing his claims on documentary data about Shakespeare dating from 1509 to 1594, Sams argues that early biographical information is more reliable than the theories of modern scholars.
He also argues that Shakespeare was successful in the London theater years earlier than conventional scholarship asserts, and that he regularly revised his work.
