  The Pilgrims and Plymouth Colony:1620
Employment in the wine trade had made her a "sweet ship." Leakage from the wine casks over the space of years had neutralized the garbage and other filth which sailors in those days threw into the hold instead of bothering to drop it overboard.
For one thing, we know every ship in those days had cats to cope with the numerous rats that always found their way on board while ships were moored at the docks which were rich feeding grounds for vermin.
When the Pilgrims met them in 1620, the Wampanoag were competent farmers, fishers, hunters and gatherers.

The IBM 1620 was a general-purpose, stored-program data processing system for small businesses, research and engineering departments of large companies, and schools requiring solutions to complex problems in the areas of engineering, research, and management science.
With the 1711 model 2 and 1712 Multiplexer and Terminal Unit connected to the 1620, the computer not only received data from analog measuring devices, but fed results through the 1711/1712 to control processes by closing contacts which completed circuits to the instrumentation for closed-loop process control.
1620 symbolic language allowed the programmer to refer to instructions and data in the program by name or other meaningful designation without regard to their location in the machine to facilitate relocating sections of programs, incorporating subroutines, and inserting or deleting instructions.

At the same time, however, we should not fall into the hoary cliche that the Spanish were a backward-looking people in decline, merely because Spanish culture in the Renaissance does not resonate with modern American culture in the ways that English Renaissance culture does.
(ii) Rather than just treating the succession of European voyages, settlements, and colonies as a kind of proto-Amtrak timetable, we and our students must grapple with the spectrum of goals, purposes, and methods followed by the various European nations -- including their competition with one another.
It therefore seemed a useful expedient to permit members of difficult religious minorities -- the most famous examples are the Pilgrims in 1620 and the Puritans in 1630 -- to leave England for America.

PlYMOUTH MA - ITS HISTORY AND PEOPLE
The pilgrims founded Plymouth on Dec. 21, 1620, establishing a settlement that became the seat of Plymouth Colony in 1633 and a part of Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1691.
The term Pilgrim is derived from his description of himself and his coreligionists as they left Holland (July 22, 1620) for Southampton, where they joined another group of English separatists on the Mayflower.
His influence was instrumental in winning the approval of the Virginia Company for the proposal to resettle the congregation in America, and he was one of the few original Scrooby separatists who sailed on the Mayflower in 1620.

I pointed out that in the printed and dated title-page to Part II Don Quixote's name is spelled with an “x” while in the undated engraved title accompanying the printed title (only in some of the copies, it must be reiterated) the name is spelled with a “ch”.
Early bibliographers, some of whom may not even have seen or known of the 1620 Part II with the engraved title, were thus rarely in a position to make the same discovery and to determine correctly the chronology of the editions in dispute.
Gordon Duff's comment implies, it would seem, that Part II of 1620 was received first by the Bodleian, and that Part I with the engraved title was received afterward.

There, in relative isolation from the mainstreams of Dutch art, Avercamp devoted himself almost entirely to the painting of winter scenes, and specifically to depictions of crowds of people engaging in a wide range of activities on frozen rivers.
