Thus, 1641 is regarded to some extent as a pre-emptive strike by ‘Catholic’ Ireland in an endeavour to overthrow the Protestant regime in Ireland.
The sheer volume of deaths associated with the 1641 rebellion is a contentious issue, not least because the number of Protestant fatalities was soon inflated to several hundreds of thousands by contemporary and subsequent Protestant writers.
The so-called 1641 rebellion actually lasted for almost ten years, spreading to other areas of Ireland when the native Irish of Ulster were joined in revolt by their Old English co-religionists.

The Rebellion of 1641 and the Cromwellian Occupation of Ireland
The Rebellion of the 1641 and the ensuing occupation of Ireland by Oliver Cromwell would prove to have lasting effects on the modern Irish state.
The lasting significance of the Rebellion of 1641 has more to do with the sentiments that persisted in both nations as a result of the conflict than with the particular political events that surrounded it.

Modern research calculates the actual number of deaths to be 12,000 out of a total Protestant population in Ulster at the time of 40,000, a massacre by any scale even if some thousands of these occurred as a result of military combat rather than the slaughter of the defenceless.
For a time, such was the success of the revolt that Protestant dominance in Ireland was in danger of being eradicated, not least when Owen Roe O’Neill led the Catholic rebels in Ulster to a famous victory at the battle of Benburb (County Tyrone) in 1646, the main Protestant army in Ireland having been annihilated.
The 1641 rebellion came as a surprise to the Crown.

 The Irish Uprising 1641
The Irish Uprising of 1641 was a long-term result of the "Plantation" policy of Tudor and Stuart monarchs under which Ireland was colonised by Protestant settlers from England and Scotland.
Encouraged by the example of Scotland's defiance of the English in the Bishops' Wars, Sir Phelim O'Neill and Rory O'More plotted with other disaffected Irish chieftains to start an armed rebellion in defence of their interests and to recover the lands they had lost.
The rebellion erupted in Ulster on 22 October 1641.

There is no "stock" 1641 so I'll assume you mean it's a stock 1585 other than having the larger 87mm cylinders.
They typically have about half that much deck height or less out-of-the-box so you must either have some significantly thick shims under the cylinders or some very short connecting rods.
