In 1700 Felipe V of Bourbon became king - he was great-grandson of Felipe IV, who reigned (1621-65), and became king after a war of succession between the Habsburg and Bourbon heirs to the throne.
She stayed in Gottorp for about one year and in 1700 her only child, Karl Friedrich (1700-39), was born, and two years later her husband was killed in battle.
She was the aunt of the founder and leader of the Herrnhuts Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf (1700-1760).

After Texas became a state, a number of Comanches were defeated by disease, warfare, and the depletion of the buffalo and moved to a reservation in Indian Territory (Oklahoma).
The Salt Creek Massacre, also known as the Warren Wagon Train Raid, was led by Kiowas, and two of the leaders, Satanta and Big Tree, were tried for murder in a one-of-a-kind trial that made national headlines.
In the 1960s, the Tiguas organized and won recognition from the state as a tribe, then filed a claim for their original grant and other traditional lands in the area.

The more densely populated eastern area of the United States, including herds in New England, was the early home of Herefords and from there they fanned out to the South and West as the population expanded and the demand for beef increased.
Records of the New York State Fair reveal that 11 Herefords were exhibited there in 1844 and were highly praised.
Leaders in beef cattle education and research stressed growth as a major criteria of performance, often ignoring or de-emphasizing the most important economical trait of beef cattle production, fertility.

The United States intends to implement the Treaty by reducing its operationally deployed strategic nuclear warheads to 1700-2200 through removal of warheads from missiles in their launchers and from heavy bomber bases, and by removing some missiles, launchers, and bombers from operational service.
The United States also made clear that a small number of spare strategic nuclear warheads (including spare ICBM warheads) would be located at heavy bomber bases and that the United States would not consider these warheads to be operationally deployed strategic nuclear warheads.
The United States and Russia proceed from the Joint Statements by the President of the United States of America and the President of the Russian Federation on Strategic Issues of July 22, 2001 in Genoa and on a New Relationship Between the United States and Russia of November 13, 2001 in Washington.

 Bush To Seek $100 Million To Modernize Polish Military - US Department of State
Poland has a contingent of 1700 soldiers in Iraq, he said, which, according to press reports is down from its initial contribution of 2400.  However, Kwasniewski said that an additional 700 troops in Poland are ready to be deployed if needed and that the Polish forces will remain in Iraq through the end of 2005.
The Polish leader has developed a “road map” that is “fair to the Polish people,” Bush said.  “I adopt the principles and accept the recommendations of the road map.  And that'll become the basis for legislation,” he said.
For his part, the Polish leader said the democratic success in the Ukraine “wouldn’t be possible without the participation of the United States,” and he said that country’s success “is the success of all of us.”

Existing law requires the University of California and the California State University to declare, as policy, among other things, that students who are eligible to transfer from a community college and who are from historically underrepresented groups be given preference, under state and federal law, in transfer admissions decisions.
Existing law relating to the State Graduate Fellowship Program requires the Student Aid Commission to award fellowships and give priority to students who are historically disadvantaged or from groups that are underrepresented in graduate level programs.
Known as the "CSU Management Efficiency Act of 1996," this bill (among other things) removed the CSU from the statutory definition of state agency for purposes of legislation passed after 1/1/97, and allowed the CSU to adopt regulations without their having to be reviewed by the Office of Administrative Law.

When government leaders met in Philadelphia to revise the Articles of Confederation, in May of 1787, the issue of immigration was settled with the adoption of the Constitution of the United States in 1789.

A curriculum quite similar to those in other areas of the United States was followed; students were much like those the world over; and a raison d'etre for college founding was analogous to that of others in the Old Northwest: the "civilizing" of the area and the provision of future leaders.

When Mississippi State University freshman Charlie W. Wilder of Ocean Springs first arrived on campus last fall, he found he needed advice on topics ranging from how to change his major to where to find a campus telephone directory.
One of 500 freshmen in a pilot project initiated in 2001 by the Division of Student Affairs, he had a personal mentor who could refer him to the appropriate offices for information and assistance.
And, acting on a suggestion from his mentor Orly Hardin, he sought a coveted position as one of 18 orientation leaders selected annually to introduce incoming students to the university.

In December of that year Andros arrived, commissioned as Governor of all New England, and charged with the 'abolishment of all popular assemblies and existing churches, or at all events of the establishment of a state church which could readily be converted to papal forms at the opportune moment.
Such was the general state of governmental affairs at about the time Andros arrived in New York, commissioned as Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief of all the English possessions ' from Nova Scotia to Delaware Bay.
After some days of pompous ceremonies in New York City, conspicuous features of which were the breaking of the seal of the province of New York and the substitution of that of the Dominion of New England, Andros crossed to the Jerseys, which were to be annexed to New York under the general plan.
