Moreover, the school turned out to be in chaos, lacking in discipline and with the musical level at an all time low (due to the weak disciplinary regime of the nearly seventy year old rector Johann Heinrich Ernesti, shown on the right here).

Paris Combo: Motifs - PopMatters Music Review
While based in France and playing music founded in 20th-century chanson, the Combo's members hail not merely from France (singer/accordion player Belle du Berry, drummer François Jeannin) but also from the Mediterranean (the Django-esque guitarist known only as Potzi), Madagascar (double-bass player and second singer Mano Razanajato), and Australia (pianist and trumpet player David Lewis).
However readily apparent its influences, however, the music is free from any hint of gimmick; there are no ostentatious shows of virtuosity or dramatic shifts in character to suggest a coarse attempt to rub our faces in the group's multiculturalism.
At all turns, this is fun music played by people who sound like they're having fun.

Moreover, the music was published in cifra nueva,"new tablature", which provided a single line for each part, with the notes being indicated by numbers, accompanied by signs to denote which octave.
Her statement that "a sense of intimacy has grown up between me and Schubert’s music, to such an extent that I feel I am close to him, that he and I share feelings and thoughts with the listener..." is not merely hyperbole.
