Coheo family
Of the three daughters, T. Reece Heacock says: "One sister went with her brother John to Redstone, another went with Jonathan to Canada, a third went off and was not heard of afterwards by her relatives." A letter from Lee F. Heacock, who was preparing a family history in 1931, however, tells a different story.
According to Totten, Cavers came from Scotland and was a farmer in Newark, Niagara by 1802 and a shopkeeper in Thorold.
There may be some doubt as, to the exact relationship of Deborah Heacock' to the Heacock family, but little question that she is apart of the Bucks County branch of the family.

William Tetley, Mixed jurisdictions: common law vs civil law (codified and uncodified) (Part I)
The diversity of the sources of the civil law, the diversity of languages in which it was expressed, the absence of contemporary commentaries on that law and the reputed "advantages" of the French and Louisiana codes, resulted in pressure for codification, which led to the formation of a commission in 1857.
The Digest of 1808 was largely inspired by the revolutionary ideas of France, gleaned from the French Civil Code of 1804 and its preparatory works, approximately 70% of its 2,156 articles being based on those sources.
Canada is a Common law country, except in the case of Québec which, since the transfer of New France to the British Crown by the Treaty of Paris in 1763, has retained its law of French derivation in matters of 'property and civil rights', pursuant to the terms of the 'Quebec Act' of 1774."

The Indians of Canada, with different concepts of territorial rights and borders than the white man, engaged in skirmishes with the Americans along the border and demanded support from the government of Upper Canada.

In their haste to see the New Province of Upper Canada settled, the Council of that Province allowed whole townships to be petitioned by small groups, usually four in number.

NativeTech: Finger Weaving ~ Belts, Sashes & Garters
Advancement of weaving beyond hand-held forms probably did not occur, at least with northern New England tribes such as the Penobscot, because birchbark was readily available and used to construct numerous kinds of containers and coverings.
A long tradition of finger weaving is obvious from the intricate examples which have survived from the time of European contact.
French Canadian traders learned finger weaving from the Native Americans and began making what was later termed "Assomption" sashes from their originating town in Quebec.

His travels were even more extensive after 1875, when he became geologist with the Geological Survey of Canada; they resulted in numerous published reports and articles, primarily on the mineral resources of the Prairies, northern British Columbia and the Yukon, but also on the botany, geography, and ethnography of this region.
Closely allied to his scientific and exploratory work are an album of photographs taken in western Canada in 1894-95 (c.70), and about 10 cm of pencil sketches, sepias and water colours of landscapes, many produced during exploratory trips in 1873-1874, and 1881 (c.59).
