Search 1820 United States Federal Census
The 1820 census was begun on 7 August 1820.
Additionally, the 1820 census for the first time asked the number of free white males 16 to 18; number of persons not naturalized; number engaged in agriculture, commercial, or manufacture; number of “colored” persons (sometimes in age categories); and number of other persons except Indians.
The 1820 census will, in most cases, help distinguish the target family from others of the same name; help to determine family size; locate possible relatives with the same name; identify immediate neighbors who may be related; identify slaveholders; and spot spelling variations of surnames.

Missouri Compromise - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Missouri Compromise, also called the Compromise of 1820, was an agreement passed in 1820 between the pro-slavery and anti-slavery factions in the United States, involving primarily the regulation of slavery in the western territories.
This was agreed to by both houses, and the measures were passed, and were signed by President James Monroe respectively on March 3 and on March 6 of 1820.
When the question of the final admission of Missouri came up during the session of 1820-1821, the struggle was revived over a clause in the new constitution (1820) requiring the exclusion of "free negroes and mulattoes" from the state.

 The 1820 Rising - Foreword
My own interest in the Radical War of 1820 was prompted by a pamphlet on the Rising by Glasgow lawyer, Frank A. Sherry, published in the late 1960’s.
The Scottish Radicals of 1820 had the smeddum to play and sing the Scottish National Anthem - unlike present day Scots - indeed the band leading a demonstration in Airdrie were arrested for playing ‘Scots Wha Hae’.
It seemed appropriate in the year that the 19 names were added to the Martyrs Memorial in Sighthill Cemetery, Glasgow that details of their fate should appear in the appendices.

 1820 US Census of Madawaska
The 1820 Census was the first US Census of Madawaska (spelled "Matawascah" and "Matawasca" in the census returns), which was included in the returns for Penobscot County, Maine.
It seems almost certain that the returns for the places enumerated by Bradbury are missing from the microfilm copy because they were taken from the census archives for use in documentation presented by the United States in 1829 to the King of the Netherlands in his 1831 arbitration over the border dispute.
Indeed, an abstract of the 1820 US Census of Matawascah Parish (Madawaska) (along with Houlton Plantation and New Limerick Plantation), was included in the documentation submitted in that year by the United States in the arbitration.

1820 Census of Population and Housing
The fourth census was taken under the provisions of an act of March 14, 1820.
The 1820 census act required that enumeration should be by an actual inquiry at every dwelling house, or of the head of every family within each district.
Data relating to manufactures were collected by the assistants, sent to the marshals, and then transmitted to the Secretary of State at the same time as the population returns.

Regardless of all the bad posting about the 1820, most of the reviews on this board and the media indicate this is a great unit.
the 1820 is not compatible with Apple, but the M-Box is.I'd only get the M-Box if I were interested in running PTLE on a laptop,no other reason. For a Desktop solution for Sonar there are plenty of better choices including the 1820.
Even if it is a Sonar problem (the way Emu says), the upshot is the 1820 seems very touchy when used with Sonar 4, and the one who has to deal with the headaches is the user.
