  Heinrich Schliemann Archaeology - Troy
Heinrich Schliemann (Johann Ludwig Heinrich Julius Schliemann) was born in January 1822 in the German territory of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
A cache of artefacts in copper, silver and gold was enearthed in 1873 and styled by Heinrich Schliemann as being "Priam's Treasure" after King Priam of Troy.
By this time Heinrich Schliemann and his first wife, (who was not interested in Archaeology), had parted company, Schliemann had asked a friend to help him find a well-educated, Greek woman, who was beautiful, dark-haired, poor, and shared a great interest in Homer.

The journal is managed by a consortium of departments of archaeology in higher education and by the Council for British Archeaology and the British Academy.
The Head of the Archaeology Department of University of York and a representative of the British Academy are also entitled to attend these meetings, but this rarely proves practical.

My CD ROM "The Art & Archaeology of the Clay Tobacco Pipe", available only through this website, covers all the information on the web site and lots more.
Various designs by a company in Manchester U.K which was founded in 1879 and still produced well into the 1980's for collectors as well as smokers.
These same designs can be found in old rubbish dumps of the early 20th Century.

Founded in 1879, the company continued producing pulpware until the 1950s when production shifted to modern plastics.
During WW2 secret documents were brought to Thetford for shredding and making into pulpware.
