	Sheet Music, 1870-1885: About the Collection
		Though the Library's music holdings were substantial it was not until 1896 that the Library's "Music Department", as it was then called, was established.
		The bound up piles of music on the floor are undoubtedly part of the vast numbers of copyright deposits that formed the nucleus of the Library's music collections and which, taken as a whole, constitute one of the Library's greatest treasures.
		Though the Music Division possesses many great musical treasures and rarities, it can still be argued that the items deposited for copyright (now numbering in the millions) make up the heart of the collection, and are, in the aggregate, perhaps the greatest treasure of all.

	Music Hall History
		The exterior decoration of the Music Hall is also considered one of the finest examples of Queen Anne decorative brickwork in the country.
		When it opened on December 12, 1885 the Music Hall had a flat interior floor and was used for plays, concerts, balls, flower shows, horse shows, and roller skating events.
		In 1925, Goldblatt purchased the Music Hall and the interior of the Music Hall was redone in the Art Deco style and the seats were widened.

	Welcome to the Chatfield Brass Band
		The first bandstand was built in the 1890's, followed by a "new" bandstand erected in the city park in 1921.
		This small stone and brick structure was added on to in the 1940's, when band music was at its peak.
