		This work is a good example of a non-campaign song that is a protest song of but is carefully done with a level of humor that probably kept the composer from being taken downtown for a talk with Boss Tweed.
		As if that were not enough, the song is clearly in the Tin Pan Alley style of the day and would possible have been a big and perhaps lasting hit had it not been a campaign song.
