		The Punitive Expedition of 1897 was a military excursion by a British force of 1200 under Admiral Sir Harry Rawson that captured, burned, and looted the city of Benin, incidentally bringing to an end the highly sophisticated West African Kingdom of Benin.
		Francis Lefty ODoul (March 4, 1897 - December 7, 1969) was a left-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox from 1919 to 1923, before converting to an outfielder for the New York Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and Brooklyn Dodgers from 1928 to 1934.

	Living Better Cinematically
		The film, though, is mainly designed to show what a carefree adventurous life movie stars like Flynn live, who flies off to his ship on his private pontoon helicopter with only an apple, a banana, and a camera with him, to go on an extended sea voyage.
		The film is also very British, with the narrator explaining that many of the design decisions were made specifically to appeal to the British people––this is also a change from the internationalism usually touted at such fairs.
		The film is a bit slow-moving in spots, but that’s somehow appropriate, as the entire expedition was agonizingly slow-moving due to lack of oxygen at that altitude.

		The chamber and songs were, of course, filmed in a live concert given at the Théâtre Musical de Paris – Châtelet so there is all the ambience and spontaneity of live, unedited performances.

		Get this DVD --- because I know of no other source to see these dance clips --- but be prepared to turn the sound off, and wonder how anyone could have blown it this bad in their concept of historical preservation.
		If you're a dance history buff, you might enjoy this, but be warned--the material appears to be mostly fuzzy public domain film clips, nothing from familiar films.
		"Social Dance IN Film" suggests that it has film clips--it should be "Social Dance ON Film." Also, most if not all of the music is just a badly-synchronized piano--even films from the sound era are accompanied by this piano.
