1911 Encyclopædia Britannica - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Supporters contend that the Eleventh Edition of the Encyclopædia Britannica (1910-1911) represents "the sum of human knowledge" at the beginning of the 20th century; indeed, it was advertised as such.
The 1911 edition for the first time saw a number of female contributors.
The 1911 edition is no longer restricted by copyright, and it is available in several more modern forms.

Hi Daniel, I have noticed your excellent work on the 1911 lists, then your name on this list, if you want to be an admin i would be delighted to nominate you.
The EB missing articles list is my new haunt since they deleted the one for Encarta.
I don't think that importing articles about towns from the 1911 Britannica is a good idea, as almost everything except the location and pre 1911 history is likely to be misleading, but if you continue with it, please delete the obviously out of date information, such as lists of factories.

"When reading the articles of the 1911 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, it may help to keep in mind the time period in which this was published.
The beginning of the twentieth century was a time of unprecedented wealth, and an age of great technological achievements when humankind bragged that it could build an ocean liner that God, Himself, couldn't sink.

The experiences of French guerilla attacks and of asymmetric warfare in general during the War had a profound effect on the German General Staff, resulting in the unusually harsh and severe occupation of areas conquered by Germany during World War I.
