		One of the characteristics of modern science, or at least the reputation of modern science, that has made it so intriguing as an object of study in the 20th century (whether by historians, philosophers, or sociologists), is science's ability to discover and create truths about the world.
		Science is certainly not alone among the disciplines in claiming a relationship to truth, but the study of science in the 20th century often focused on what distinguished science from other disciplines, as a way of knowing the world and as a method for discovering truth.

	FNF: PAUL FEYRABEND (Against Science) (1924-1996)
		Feyerabend was professor of Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley and professor of the philosophy of science at the Federal Institute of Technology at Zurich.
		Feyerabend was already a well-known philosopher of science by the time it first appeared in essay form (1970; the book version was published 1975), a one-time student and sometime follower of Karl Popper at the London School of Economics, and a lecturer (and then professor) at Berkeley since 1958.
		Feyerabend argued "against method," insisting that science must be far more open and willing to examine all possibilities -- none of which were, per se, better than any other.

		In all of these ways, ID represents a strategic upgrade of "creation science." In fact, it turns out that ID's "teach the controversy" program—which advocates instructing public school students in the alleged weaknesses in evolutionary theory, rather than in ID itself—appears to have originated with "creation scientists" as well.
