  1927-History
Frost knew that Weideman was the perfect singer for his unrecorded songs, and the ideal frontman for this new band.
In late 1989, as 1927 was in the process of commencing work on its new album, founder member and principal songwriter Garry Frost left the band.
By 1993, the band was in serious financial and artistic difficulties, and broke up with little fanfare.

 ABLative No.8, Spring 1988
It is easy to see why bands tended to be overlooked in their heyday, and why they have continued to be neglected ever since.
The problem of 'who rules' was to be a factor in the band's demise, because conflicts of interest and outlook between board and band were never far from the surface.
Tooth's Brewery Band was thus able to side-step the painful problems of raising funds and training players which newly established bands usually face, and it entered the contest field in January 1928 as a fully-fledged, completely-equipped Grade B band.

The band was selected as the official band for the 16th district of the American Legion, and made a trip to Marfa to participate in their convention from November 16-18, 1934.
The band was suppose to have gone to the National Boy Scout Jamboree in August of 1935, but because of a polio epidemic, the trip was canceled and they went to California to the San Diego Exposition instead.

The ideals leading to the formation of school bands in the United States during the first decades of the twentieth century were both practical and philosophical.
Patriotic fervor, the public display of hastily organized military bands, and the inauguration of military training in the schools all influenced the development of school bands during this period.
Within the next ten years, school bands were organized in many other states as well, including California, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Iowa.9 In Connersville, Indiana, Supervisor of Music W. Otto Miessner organized a band in 1907 in order to maintain the musical interests of boys whose singing voices were not reliable.

The label suggests that this was Ernie Golden's McAlpin Orchestra who recorded it in January of 1927 (that band, as their name suggests, played at the Hotel McAlpin in New York at Broadway and 34th Street).
The band's sound, however, is very similar to Adrian Shubert's orchestra who recorded very frequently for Romeo and the other dime-store labels.
Whichever band it actually is, their personnel is unknown - even the vocalist is uncredited (sounds like Irving Kaufman to my ear) - though the accordion player, who is likely Charles Magnante (thanks to "Fredrik" for that information) does a decent job of attempting to play hot.

The other personnels given in the discographies refer to the many other bands which Alfredo organized during this time, such as the band he put into the Park Lane Hotel in 1927 which was directed by Wilbur Blinco (this is not Jay Wilbur, despite the comment in Rust/Forbes).
When Les Allen joins the band in 1927, it is noticable that, along with Allen, Hal Swain also contributes some vocal choruses to the band's records.
Swain had his own band to run (also at the "New Princes"), so it unlikely that he was a member of Alfredo's band, he was probably present just for the recordings; he may also play saxophone on the records.
