The History of the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Office of Civil Aviation)
After the reorganisation of aviation administration in 1933/34, all competencies were transferred to the Reichsluftministerium (RLM) (national ministry of aviation) and its subordinate offices.
With the re-establishment of air sovereignty, the paths of aviation administration in Germany diverged for political reasons.
The most important goal of the LBA is to avert hazards to the safety of aviation as well as to public safety and order.

 NOAA News Online (Story 2347)
Florida bore the brunt of U.S. property damage, with damage estimates (adjusted to year 2000 dollars) expected to eclipse the $34.9-billion in damage caused by Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
Hurricane Ivan was an encore performer with two landfalls during 2004, first as a Category 3 hurricane near Gulf Shores, Ala., and second as a tropical storm over southwestern Louisiana.
During 2004, the hurricane landfalls were also related to a strong region of high pressure over the western Atlantic in the middle levels of the atmosphere, which helped to steer hurricanes toward the United States rather than out to sea.

Securities Exchange Act of 1934 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While the 1933 Act maintained an antifraud provision (Section 17) when the 1934 Act was promulgated, questions remained about the reach of that antifraud provision, and whether a private right of action existed for purchasers (meaning that ordinary people, and not just the government, could maintain a lawsuit against the bad actor).
Contrasted with the Securities Act of 1933, which regulates these original issues, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 regulates the secondary trading of those securities between persons often unrelated to the issuer.
The Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (commonly referred to as "the exchange act" or "the 34 act") is primarily concerned with the secondary market for trading of securities.
