The last of the early-century steel-and-concrete ballparks opened the season after the Miracle Braves had captured the hearts of Boston fans with their mad rush to a World Series championship and a few years before Babe Ruth would change the course of baseball with his booming bat.
On July 28, 1935, the Boston Braves played a game against the Brooklyn Dodgers and the total attendance that day was 95 fans.
Home to the Braves until their move to Milwaukee, the park also hosted the Red Sox' home WS games in 1915 and 1916 and their Sunday games from 1929 to 1932, and was the scene of ML baseball's longest game, a 26-inning tie between the Dodgers and Braves on May 1, 1920.

The original Boston Braves team played in Braves Field in 1932 and wound up with a break-even 4-4-2 record.
Still, the Redskins battled the New York Giants down to the wire for the divisional crown with the issue to be decided on the season's final day in New York's Polo Grounds.
In 1936, the Redskins won the NFL Eastern division championship, but Marshall, unhappy with the fan support in Boston, moved the championship game to the Polo Grounds in New York.

This playing field, which was home to the Pirates for 62 years, was the third enclosed park of the city's professional clubs.
