 Quincy Art Center - About the QAC
In 1991, Mariann Barnard became the professional director of the Quincy Art Center, (as it was by then called), and she was replaced by Julie D. Nelson in 1994.
The Art Center is supported in part by membership fees, contributions, grants, and proceeds from fund-raising events, the most notable of which is the annual Beaux Arts Ball, initiated in 1933.
The Quincy Art Center is ranked #1 among Art Centers outside of Chicago by the Illinois Arts Council.

The Armory Center for the Arts has been a leader in the field of art education since 1947 when it began as the education department of the Pasadena Art Museum.
The Workshops brought the arts to new audiences by working in partnerships with schools, libraries, parks, neighborhood groups, community centers and city agencies.

An acclaimed portrait painter, Sandor Vago was born in Hungary and studied at art academies in Budapest and Munich.

 Visual art in Macedonia
From that time until 1880, when the first paintings were made by Dimitar Andonov Papradishki, abandoning established formulae of church art, a number of exceptional artists emerged in Macedonia, and their works sum up an entire period of church painting.
The foundations of contemporary and modern Macedonian visual art were laid by several painters in the 1930s, educated in European visual art centers and specialising in European art themes.
One year after the disastrous earthquake of 1963, the Skopje Museum of Contemporary Art was opened, which, along with several art galleries, played a decisive role in the development of the visual arts in Macedonia.
