London Underground 1972 Stock - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the early 1970s the 1938 Tube Stock on the Bakerloo and Northern Lines was becoming due for replacement.
Although almost identical looking, the 1972 Tube Stock had a guard and door controls in the rear carriage, and was not compatible with 1967 Tube stock (though in recent years some 1972 carriages have been adapted to run with the 1967 Tube stock on the Victoria Line).
With the entry of the 1983 Tube Stock on the Jubilee in 1984, the 1972 Mark 2 stock was transferred to the Northern Line, then subsequently to the Bakerloo Line where it remains in service.

Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BRCandW made not only carriages and wagons, but a range of vehicles, from aeroplanes and gliders to buses, trolleybuses and tanks.
Nevertheless, it is as a builder of railway rolling stock that the company is best remembered, exporting to most parts of the new and old worlds.
It supplied vehicles to all four of the pre-nationalisation "big four" railway companies (LMS, SR, LNER and GWR), British Rail, Pullman (some of which are still in use) and Wagons Lits, plus railways as diverse as those in Egypt, India, South Africa, Iraq, Malaya and Nigeria, to name but a few.

 Vintage Amp Tube Charts
In electronics, a vacuum tube (U.S. and Canadian English) or (thermionic) valve (outside North America) is a device generally used to amplify, or otherwise modify, a signal by controlling the movement of electrons in an evacuated space.
However, tubes are still used in several specialized applications such as guitar amplifiers (also called a valve amp outside the U.S.) and high power RF transmitters, as a display device in television sets and in microwave ovens.
Class A means that the power tube pulls the same amount of current all the time regardless of whether idling or producing full power and one active device amplifies all portions (360deg) of the input.

 SQUAREWHEELS.org.uk - 1972 MkII tube stock
1983 tube stock) was delivered, half the 1972 MkIIs that had become allocated there were sent back to the Northern, displacing 1959 stock onto the Bakerloo, which itself allowed the withdrawal of the remainder of the 1938 tube stock in November 1985.
Next, the 1972 MkII stock on the Northern was converted to One Person Operation (OPO) and sent to the Bakerloo, allowing some of the 1959 stock there to come back to the Northern.
The refurbishment of the stock created a pleasant environment inside; circular lamps were fitted to the end walls of cars, although refurbishment to subsequent stocks has seen windows cut in these areas.

 Joe's Tube Lore
Tube world has been selling these for the past several months, SND has had them in the past as well, and a pair or two are on auction at ebay every few weeks.
The tube also has a measure of life and vibrancy, similar to the Sylvania's fl plates and it also has a bit of the forwardness that's seems to be endemic to Sylvanias in the 5751 family.
On some tubes, like very early Amperexes, the getter halo isn’t a ring but instead is a two part metal structure made from wire in the trough shape of the letter D. Tubes with this type getter halo are commonly referred to as D getters.

 New Works Rolling Stock
One of the major differences between O and P stock was that the guards door operation position was provided in the driving cab on the former but on the latter was found at the inner end of one of the motor coaches.
As the converted Q stock cars were originally built of steel it was necessary to paint them in an aluminium finnish to match the unpainted exterior of the new build R stock cars.
The internal layout was exactly that of the 1938 stock and the external layout differed from that stock only in respect of a more flat front and the use of aluminium alloy for the body skin, which was left unpainted as per the R49 stock.

 SQUAREWHEELS.org.uk - 1959 tube stock
A programme of further modifications to the new 1995 stock trains meant that there would not be reliably enough to provide the full service the while, and this gave 1959 stock (and the last few Guards) a little breathing space until January 2000.
Not a single car of ordinary "silver" 1959 stock has been kept on the Underground (unlike the 1962 stock, of which a score of cars operates in the engineering fleet); however, former Northern Line regular traveller Mike Kelly acquired DM 1304 and had begun restoring it to mid-life condition in a Herefordshire garden.
A train of long-serving 1959 tube stock is seen crossing over to arrive at Morden platforms 3 and 4, watched by its new cousin on the right (with DM 51705 showing).

It is not intended to be an all-inclusive listing of all tubes currently made around the world, we suggest you consult with tube manufacturers or dealers for other types.
Suggest contacting audio tube dealers, if they don't have any then the amp must be converted to 6L6GCs (this is a considerable modification, it will give less output power).

 12AX7 Tubes in Stock
The demand for the vintage USA and European versions of this tube are beginning to outstrip the supply, and, as a buyer, you need to carefully consider what is available, the device you will use it in, and what your budget allows.
The 1950s versions of these tubes often had long narrow plates, with D or square getters, and are the scarcest and finest sounding of these two brands.
These tubes have nearly vanished from circulation, and a matched pair of these are usually not available anywhere in the world.

This tube was found in a number of 1950-1960 era high fidelity receivers, plus pro audio compressors and preamps, and there are no substitutes for it.
The plates in these 1950s tubes turned a dark metallic bronze color when the nickel was carbonized, and it is a clue to the astute audiophile to a great sounding tube.
