Also in 1958, the length of a Grand Prix was reduced from 500 kilometers to 300 kilometers and from 3 hours to 2 hours, and the cars were to run on 130 octane AV gas instead of alcohol-based fuel.
In the very next race, the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring on August 3rd 1958, the Grim Reaper struck again, as Peter Collins was killed on the 10th lap, going off after Pflanzgarten while in second place and engaged in a battle with ultimate winner Tony Brooks in the Vanwall.
On September 7th 1958, the Italian Grand Prix was held at Monza, at a time in the season when the battle between Ferrari and Vanwall was tightening.

The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort had an all British race car podium with Moss the victor in a Vanwall followed by Schell and Behra in BRMs.
The next race, the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa was won by Tony Brooks who's fluid driving style seemed to compliment this circuit of broad high speed corners.

It was crashed with fatal results in the Gosport Speed Trials in 1958, rebuilt, re-registered PAP 625 and used in the filming of School for Scoundrels.
Salvadori finished 2nd in the International Trophy at Silverstone, retired in the Dutch Grand Prix, finished 6th in the British Grand Prix and 6th in the Portuguese Grand Prix.

The car was first entered for the Syracuse Grand Prix, the first major event ran under the new 1.5 litre championship regulations, and against a strong field Baghetti qualified 2nd and won in the only Ferrari, with the British teams and Porsche unable to compete with the Ferrari's engine.
His Grand Prix career would then be virtually over, though he would have three more one-off drives, all at the Italian Grand Prix - a works Brabham in 1965, a Reg Parnell-entered Ferrari in 1966, and a works Lotus in 1967, when he would have scored a point but for a blown engine.
While his ultimate level of talent is still debated (on the one hand, he won his first three Grand Prix, no mean feat for any driver; on the other, his results both before and after this were unimpressive), Baghetti's Championship debut win seems to have secured him a footnote in Formula One history.

Won three editions of the Indianapolis Grand Prix: in 1956 (Pat Flaherty), 1958 (Rodger Ward) and 1959 (Jim Rathmann).

Born in Milan, Italy, and nicknamed "Gigi," he was the older brother of race car driver Emilio Villoresi who co-piloted with him in several races at the beginning of their careers.
In 1939 he won the South African Grand Prix but the onset of World War II interrupted his racing career.
He retired from Grand Prix racing in 1957 after 32 Formula 1 championship starts without a victory but made it to the podium 8 times while scoring a total of 49 championship points.

Jim Clark was clerly the greatest racing driver of his time, this close up print show him driving at the British Grand Prix in 1967, in the Lotus 49 with the Cosworth DFV engine, this was to be his last home victory before his accident at Hockenheim which claimed his life.
Graham Hill starting from the second row takes the lead on lap 53 of the Monaco Grand Prix in 1961, driving the BRM, and claiming victory for the second year in a row.
This limited edition print shows Tony Brooks winning the 1958 Belgium Grand Prix, he is driving the Vanwall and is followed by Mike Hawthorn in the Ferrari D246.
