In 1959, Getty was named Outstanding Canadian in the Western Canada Football League and was runner up for the Schenley Award as the CFL's Outstanding Player.
In 1983, his final season in the CFL, Warren won the Schenley as Most Outstanding Player and was named both a CFL All-Star and Western All-Star.
Dave was a CFL and Western All-Star at defensive tackle from 1977 to 1981 and the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 1978.

 Alumni Spotlight: Wray Carlton - Buffalo Bills
Unable to come to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that had selected him in the 1959 NFL draft, running back Wray Carlton traveled to Toronto and the CFL to play for the Argonauts.
Carlton led the Bills in rushing during their first season with 533 yards on 137 carries.
Carlton finished his solid eight-year career after the ‘67 season as the club’s all-time leading rusher.

Gilchrist was a CFL All-Star five straight years, with the Hamilton Tiger Cats in 1956 and 1957, in 1958 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and with the Toronto Argonauts in 1959 and 1960.
Buffalo Bills in 1962, when he was the first American Football League player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, (1,096 in a 14-game schedule), earning him league MVP honors.
Because of their influence on the league that was to become the genesis of modern professional football in the United States, some of those players are acknowledged here.

Wray Carlton - RB Unable to come to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that had selected him in the 1959 NFL draft, running back Wray Carlton came to the Bills via the CFL.
A steady contributor (minus two injury plagued seasons in 1963-64 as Cookie Gilchrist's backup) Carlton averaged over 500 ruhing yards and 200 receiving yards for 6 of the 8 seasons he was with the club.
In his rookie season he lined up as a backup RB to Cookie Gilchrist when Wray Carlton went down, getting 48 carries and 19 receptions for 408 combined yards.
