Radios were used for many years after being purchased, so a 1940 or 1950 set will fit right in with the 1940 to 1970 Vintage Airstream period perfectly.
Any unique conditions of the radio is noted in the description, but it should be expected that small scuff marks, scratches and tiny hairline cracks are part of the patina that such a household item would expect to develop over such a period of time.
The radios take a minute to warm up, and generate heat - but it is that comforting glow from the tubes that we all remember.

 1960's
The 1960's were marked by unification of schemes and design of receivers which was possibly because of introduction of economical technologies and making cheaper electronic components due to their mass production.
The "smell of the epoch" began to disappear from the outlook of radios which was present in tough hand-assembled radios of the past years.
Those years became the time of decline of "musical cases" - the era of transistors was drawing near.

The following is a partial transcript of a radio interview, given by Ayn Rand, in the early 1960s at Columbia University.
This radio interview was one of a series of interviews, billed as "Ayn Rand On Campus." The interviews were produced and broadcast by radio station WKCR (which I believe was a student-run radio station on the Columbia campus).

I seek ANY top songs listings, as published or reported by local radio stations, dated BEFORE 1960 from New Orleans (and, often, elsewhere).
A good way to find out what I'm seeking, is to look at eBay and search for "music survey." Any such list must be ORIGINAL, and it can be in looseleaf form (as usually appears on auction sites) or reported in any local newspaper.
My interest in 1959 is not as strong as in prior years, though multiple listings in a newspaper may well interest me from any era (even 60s).
