 Bernie Geoffrion
Geoffrion first retired in 1964, but returned two seasons later to play for the New York Rangers.
He started playing in the NHL in 1950 for the Montreal Canadiens, without playing in the minor leagues.

From 1927-28 through 1937-38, the award was presented to the team finishing first in the American Division of the NHL.

He made his debut with the big-time Canadiens during the 1963-64 season and earned a full-time spot on the roster the next season after only seven games with the Quebec Aces in the American Hockey League.
Just two weeks after he skated circles around the Rangers, Cournoyer announced he was done for the season.
At 35, after playing 15 outstanding seasons in a tough league, Cournoyer was reluctant to let go of his hockey life.

Stan Mikita is one of the best NHL forwards in the history of the game.
After several successful years he reversed hockey style from the one of a mean fighter spending a tons of time in the penalty box to a Lady Byng Trophy winner for the most gentelmanly play in the NHL.
He had a remarkable scoring ability and was a fierce competitor on the Chicago Black Hawks team in the pre-expansion era.
