  Formula One
Formula One, or Grand Prix racing is the best known single-seater auto racing class, which involves an annual world championship.
In 1950, a world championship Formula One was established for drivers.
The sport is lesser-known in the United States than either their mostly-domestic open-wheeler racing series (at the moment there are two major ones, IRL and CART) or NASCAR, but in terms of budgets and global TV audiences F1 is bigger than all three.

The 1964 season was not the most successful.
In Formula Two this was very apparent; although Clark won four of the nine races that year, Brabham had his measure, and the Lotus F2 effort was run by entrant Ron Harris.
Formula Two gave aspiring racers a chance to compete against established stars who were contracted to run both formulae.

Michael Schumacher's recruitment for the 1996 season seemed to rejuvinate the team and, after a string of embarrassing mechanical failures, the team managed three victories and 2nd place in the constructor's championship.
The high point of the season, during which Minardi did not score any points, was Martini's front row start at the U.S. In 1991 Minardi adopted the V12 Ferrari engine and after struggling with it at the beginning of the season finished 7th in the constructor's championship.

He won back the World Championship in Formula One, blitzed the field in the Indianapolis 500, won the Tasman Cup convincingly, won races in the Lotus Cortina and even got the reluctant Lotus 30 sports car over the line first.
For all the things that went wrong with the team in 1964, Clark approached 1965 with great resolve and maturity, and by year's end had demonstrated superiority in every class of racing in which he competed.
Clark was at his best in 1965 and when we look at the 1.5 litre formula, which ended at the close of the 1965 season, Clark's nineteen-win haul is almost double Hill's ten, and streets ahead of the next best, Surtees and Gurney on three each.
