The earthquake was preceded by two strong foreshocks (5) on September 13th, 1967, both of magnitude 5.8 and 25 minutes apart (5).
The highest water level (6) reached thereafter, was in October 1967 and it was followed by the M6.6 mainshock in December of the same year.

India would also ''secure nuclear materials and technology through comprehensive export control legislation'' and through ''adherence to Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) and Nuclear Suppliers' Group (NSG) guidelines'' although it is not a member of either grouping.
India does need raw uranium too because its existing mines are rapidly depleting and there is popular resistance to the opening of new mines.

BANGKOK, JULY 11: India is poised to surpass South Africa in 2006 as the country with the single highest number of HIV infections in the world, warns a report by medical research group adding there was on an average only one trained doctor to treat every 5,000 HIV patients in the country.
India is experiencing very low HIV prevalence that obscures very serious epidemic occurring in specific population and locations.
In its report on India, TREAT quoted an Indian doctor working with AIDS patients, Sanjay Pujari of Ruby Hall Clinic, as saying that there were only 1,000 doctors trained to treat HIV patients in all of India.

As a writer he is best known for his collection of folklore; as a printer he pioneered in India in the art of engraving and was the first to attempt color printing at the time when engraving and color printing were also being pioneered in the West.
A lover of double entendre he named this magazine Saneshd, after the popular Bengali sweetmeat which, in Sanskrit, also means "news." Sukamar Ray died in his early thirties leaving his wife, Suprabha Das, the care of their son and the boy a legacy of two generations of remarkable artistic creativity.
He is also a chronicler of change in the main body of tradition in India, but he stands aside to present a certain panoramic view of the transition and contemplates it with a typically Indian sense of fatalism.

By 1965, the Government of India had requested the assistance of Peace Corps Volunteers to support the State Ministries of Health and Community Development by providing technical assistance to the Primary Health Centers for the States of Madhya Pradesh and Kerala.
In response, a training program was designed to provide the volunteers with the technical competence needed to command the respect of their Indian co-workers, together with a basis for communication and an understanding of the cultural environment in which they would work and live.
