Pink Floyd London 1966/1967 Review By Keith "MuzikMan" Hannaleck   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Whitehead was already familiar with Pink Floyd from the days (1964) when they practiced in the cellar of the building he lived in.
The talk of the day was their literal lust for the good times found in the cities nightclubs, namely the thirst for sex.
One the first scenes to open the film are a completely nude girl covered in paint and the British flag as she fondles her nipples.

 Brian Jones
Although Jones was a bright student throughout his school years with a reported IQ of 135, music remained his only real passion (music and girls to be exact).
Brian's keen interest in jazz soon overflowed to blues as this was the chosen music genre of the skiffle band craze sweeping England at the time, Jones actually playing washboard in a skiffle band he put together at 15.
In the summer of 1967 Brian, who was originally the most open to new music, ideas and scenes, traveled to San Francisco to attend the Monterey Pop Festival and take in the West Coast scene.

 Robert Christgau: Columns: December 1967
His apparent motivation is distaste for everything except modern classical music and the alienation effect.
They parody every popular music from thirties-croon to Supremes (no Supremes fan could entirely survive the sight of three hairy freaks prancing from mike to mike in a perfectly hideous and hilarious version of "Baby Love") and their music is the antithesis of soul: wooden beat, trite riffs, inane lyrics.
But musical parody can satisfy for just so long, and Zappa's tastes in social satire are less than subtle--the "plastic people" he is always sniping at are an unoriginal and rather stationary target.

The Music Box: Simon & Garfunkel - Live from New York City, 1967
At the time of the concert (January 22, 1967), Simon and Garfunkel were between masterpieces.
The former is an essential track that portrays a vivid illustration of the religious, spiritual, and racial turmoil of the late ’60s and had appeared on Simon’s 1965 UK-only, solo effort.
In the end, however, it’s all about the songs, and as evidenced by the magnificent music contained on Live from New York City, 1967, Simon and Garfunkel had them in droves.

Fy-Ah Fy-Ah: The Jad Masters 1967-1970 - Bob Marley & The Wailers, Music Downloads - Online
It's more important to enjoy vintage reggae than to get upset about the historical details, however, and all you really need to know is that this material was cut circa 1967-1970, mostly for JAD (though there are a half-dozen sides identified as "Wail'n'Soul'm" versions, presumably indicating recordings done for their own Wail'n'Soul'm label).
Most important of all, this is really first-rate early reggae music, from a juncture in the group's career that's been too ill-documented, despite having yielded much fine work.
The production is for the most part pretty clear, and always lighter and more basic than the somewhat slicker recordings through which Bob Marley & the Wailers would rise to international stardom in the 1970s.
