Detroit scored three runs in the seventh inning to win 5-3, and went on to win Games 6 and 7 as well; Horton had two runs and two RBI in the 13-1 blowout in Game 6, and two hits and a run in the final 4-1 victory.
Horton was a four-time member of the AL All-Star team (1965, 1968, 1970 and 1973).
Among his baseball superstitions was his use of the same batting helmet throughout his career; he repainted it when he changed teams.

The 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings were the first professional baseball team, finishing their inaugural season undefeated.
In 1876, the Red Stockings became a charter member of the National League where they played until they were unable to field a team in 1881.
As far as I know, they never caught me. I have been collecting baseball cards and memorabilia, particularly Cincinnati Reds items, since 1972 when I was 8 years old.
