This was true of the Le Mans circuit of the 1906 Grand Prix, as well as the Targa Florio (run on 93 miles of Sicilian roads), the German Kaiserpreis circuit (75 miles long), and the French circuit at Dieppe (a mere 48 miles), used for the 1907 Grand Prix.
The 1933 Monaco Grand Prix was the first time in the history of the sport that the grid was deciding by timed qualifying rather than the luck of a draw.
The Grand Prix of Argentina was noteworthy as Moss, driving a Cooper, used one less pitstop and had to conserve his tires in the later stages of the race, just crossing the line with the canvas showing.

At the Italian Grand Prix, the Texaco fuel that McLaren used was tested and although legal, the Italian scrutineers deemed the fuel to be illegal and Hunt was forced to start at the back of the grid.
The Japanese Grand Prix was torrentially wet, and Lauda refused to race, saying the conditions were too dangerous.

It is almost unimaginable that a man like Hunt would be allowed within a hundred paces of a Grand Prix grid nowadays.
Rather unexpectedly, though, Hesketh's F1 car was a bit useful, and Hunt drove it well, and even won the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix with it.
Lauda, driving for Ferrari, romped away in the points in the first part of the season and was leading by an enormous margin when he was almost burnt to death in a horrifying accident at the Nurburgring.

Wolf himself officially appeared for the first time at a Grand Prix meeting at the Nuerburgring the same year driving a red Lamborghini Countouch, the first model of it using a rear wing for road use.
Walter Wolf`s first Grand Prix car of his own had got the model designation WR1, in spite of bad experiences at Team Tyrrell using the same system until Kyalami 1973, the model designation was identical with the chassis number.
The WR1 model was replaced by the WR5 in the sixth round of the 1978 worldchampionship, the Belgian Grand Prix of Zolder.

In 1976 it was Nivelles turn to organize the Grand Prix but the Belgian delegation from the FIA found the track not longer suitable for Formula 1 because the condition of the asphalt.
In this period the Dutch KNMV was using the circuit because races on streetcircuits where banned in Holland at that time.

Despite a season marred by protests and concerns about driver safety — Fittipaldi refused to drive in the Spanish GP, which was stopped after 29 laps when a car launched into the crowd, killing four spectators — Lauda took nine poles and won five races to capture his first of three F1 crowns.
But at the German Grand Prix on 1 August, Lauda crashed his Ferrari at Bergwerk, a 150 mph section of the Nürburgring, in a massive, flaming accident that still brings shivers when viewed to this day.
Suffering severe facial burns and inhaling toxic fumes from the car's burning bodywork, Lauda was expected to die and received the Last Rites in the hospital, but in a rare display of sheer determination, made a near-miraculous recovery to return to the cockpit just six weeks later for the Italian GP, where he finished 4th.

Okker was the Dutch national champion 1964 to 1968, when he turned professional.

Hopes of a Grand Prix swansong with McLaren in 1994, thanks to French engine supplier Peugeot, were disappointed when team boss Ron Denis chose Martin Brundle instead, even though Philippe had a run-out in place of the suspened Mika Hakkinen in the Hungarian Gramd Prix.
This form earned him a drive with Ferrari for 1959, and he stared his second season with the Italian team by finishing second in the Argentinian Grand Prix, but he was thrown from his car in practice at Monaco and broke an arm, leaving him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
It almost went right in the French Grand Prix at Clermont-Ferrand in 1972 though, as the race was his for the taking when he suffered a puncture and fell back to third place.

The ex-World Champion and national coach of the Dutch road team was riding his mountain bike with three friends in Bergen when he stopped to fix his chain, which had fallen off.

The ridicule became grudging respect when James Hunt's Hesketh beat Niki Lauda's Ferrari to win the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix.
