		Nigeria boycotted the 1978 Games in protest of New Zealand's sporting contacts with apartheid-era South Africa, and 32 of 59 nations from Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean boycotted the 1986 Games due to the Thatcher government's attitude to South African sporting contacts.

		He represented Scotland (we won’t hold that against him!) in springboard and highboard diving at the 1978 Edmonton Commonwealth Games and also represented Edinburgh and Western Australia in Rugby Union.
		At the community level, Ronnie is a keen follower of outdoor pursuits, particularly camping, canoeing, scuba diving, bush walking and surf lifesaving.

		I participated in these events and during one of the unofficial races, I registered the 3rd fastest time of the games for the one kilometre time trial.
		In other words, if I had been competing in the games, I would have won the bronze metal.
