Online Encyclopedia and Dictionary - Formula One
Formula One, abbreviated to F1 and also known as Grand Prix racing, is a form of formula racing and the highest class of single-seat open-wheel auto racing.
Formula One teams must build the chassis in which they compete, and consequently the terms "team" and "constructor" are interchangeable; this requirement distinguishes the sport from "spec series" such as IRL and NASCAR.
Throughout the 2004 season, Formula One Management president Bernie Ecclestone repeatedly voiced his disapproval of the Silverstone Circuit, and suggested that unless its owners, the British Racing Drivers Club, modernise the facilities, the British Grand Prix would not appear on the 2005 schedule.

October 17, 1979 in Espoo, Finland, is a talented Formula One driver.
Without a single bit of experience in Formula 3[?] or Formula 3000, the two series generally believed to be "feeder" series to F1, he was not immediately granted the superlicence necessary to race in the series, with the thought that his lack of major experience was going to be a hazard on track.
In 6 of his 7 races he has reached the podium, only missing the podium after a crash on the first lap of a race that he was forced to start from the back of the field after a spin in his only shot of qualifying.

Formula Two and Minardi beckoned for 1981, but Michele so impressed Tyrell with a one-off drive at the San Marino Grand Prix that theygave him a contract until the end of the 1983 season.
Formula Three proved an even harder nut to crack, for although he finished third overall at his first attempt, it took four full years before he moved on to Formula Two for 1983, with an ORECA-run Martini.
This form earned him a drive with Ferrari for 1959, and he stared his second season with the Italian team by finishing second in the Argentinian Grand Prix, but he was thrown from his car in practice at Monaco and broke an arm, leaving him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

They actually began in earnest again in 1994, where Michael Schumacher was stupidly shown the fl flag at Silverstone for "overtaking" on the pre-race parade lap, and then slapped by FIA with a two-race suspension for allegedly ignoring the flag while Benetton's Flavio Briatore argued with the stewards.
The shenanigans escalated at the Hungaroring that season, where Schumacher was disqualified on technical grounds after the wooden undertray plank on his Benetton was judged too thin under the regulations.
And with his victory at Monza, Schumacher tied the legendary Ayrton Senna for second place among all drivers in career victories (eventually finshing the season with 44), weeping with joy during the post-race press conference as the magnitude of his accomplishment set in.
