 Dub Poetry, Overview
It is often said that the term "dub poetry" was invented in 1979 by the Jamaican poet Oku Onuora (Orlando Wong) to refer to a type of poetry that had been in existence since the mid-1970's, and that had been heavily influenced by reggae music.
Dub poetry thus relies heavily on the rhythm of reggae music and is an attempt at fusing popular music with poetry.
Dub poetry became very popular in the 1980's thanks to Mutabaruka, Oku Onuora, and Michael Smith in Jamaica; Lillian Allen in Canada; and Linton Kwesi Johnson in England.

 SAIL Ser.2, 7.3
The first privileges poetry from the so-called Language community; the second, which I will call the multicultural critique, focuses on the poetries of marginalized peoples and is continuous with the broad-based challenges to the university canon.
But just what American Indian poetry is may be as elusive as that trickster rabbit, particularly since most Native writers write in shifting forms, multigenres--myth, story, poem--and often within the same text.
While an aggressive critical response to the dominance of voice-centered, plain-style poetry is clearly called for, neither of these approaches satisfies, since both presuppose "voice" as a category of individuality and do not admit the possibility of a "polyvocalism," that is, a truly collective voice.

 THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES - DVD
Matheson was brought on board to adapt Bradbury's anthology The Martian Chronicles to mini-serial TV in 1979--and the result is a long discussion in three parts that finds Matheson winnowing away most, though not all, of Bradbury's fluffy poesy to reveal the essential emptiness at the core of Bradbury's flights of social speculation.
Likewise, a scene where a shapeshifting Martian appears to Father Peregrine (Weaver) as Christ in his passion threatens to examine the cruelty embedded in the idea of a literal communion mass (this was the series' most controversial sequence)--but washes out as a meek variation on the series' theme that mankind is rather small-minded.
The disappointment of The Martian Chronicles isn't that it's boring (and it is, something that Bradbury found to be his only major complaint with it), or that its special effects are horrible even by the standards of the day.

 Persian Dancing: An exquisite art
This trend continued until the 1979 revolution, when all such activity was discontinued.
She provides an example that Persian classical dance is not a dead art, frozen in time and endlessly repeated, but one that is both rich in heritage, and capable of adapting and incorporating elements from outside its tradition.
Persian classical dance is very similar to the Tehrani-style recreational dance, but the execution is more refined and sophisticated, so as to be suitable for presentation to an audience.

 raine
Craig Raine established his name as a poet with A Martian Sends a Postcard Home (1979), which inspired what came to be called the ‘Martian school’ of poetry, poets such as Raine’s former Oxford-pupil Christopher Reid, who describe the world as if seen through the eyes of extraterrestrial beings.
A striking feature of their poetry is the ‘conceit’, the use of unusual, at times even far-fetched metaphor which proves its aptness in the end.
In this respect the ‘Martians’ seem to hark back to the early seventeenth century metaphysical poets, or ‘fantasticks’ as they were then called, such as John Donne.
