In October 2004 the British Grand Prix was left off the preliminary race schedule for 2005 because the BRDC refused to pay the race fee demanded by Bernie Ecclestone.
The 2005 Grand Prix was an important race for all the drivers, especially Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen and Michael Schumacher.

The 1980 United States Grand Prix was a Formula One race held on October 5, 1980 at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Race Course in Watkins Glen, New York.
In the fall of 1980, the autumn colors of upstate New York passed from the Formula One calendar just as the name of Frank Williams was being scrawled across it.
As the track's last Grand Prix weekend got under way, the big surprise of qualifying was the Alfa Romeo of Italian Bruno Giacomelli, who was quickest in both Friday's and Saturday's sessions.

The United States Grand Prix West was a race held at Long Beach, California, as a Formula 5000 race in 1975 and a Formula One championship event from 1976 to 1983.
With the Watkins Glen track on the downslope during the mid-70s, the USGP West was created, making the US just the second country (after Italy) to host two Championship F1 events in the same season.
The street circuit was an immediate success from its first race in 1976, and it became the U.S.'s answer to the Monaco Grand Prix.

Patrick was born on August 9th 1944 and was tragicly killed while testing his Alfa Romeo car at Hockenhiem on August 1st 1980.
In 1980 however Patrick after 7 months in a wheelchair returned to F1 with the Alfa Romeo team and showed that he had lost none of his ability's behind the wheel.
Sadly though in mid season while testing at the hockenhiem circuit Patrick's car veered off track and hit an unprotected guard rail and died instanly.
